6th Annual Scramble Against Cancer

Thank you to all of those who signed up to participate in this years Scramble Against Cancer. We look forward to seeing everyone on October 10th at Onion Creek Golf Course. Registration starts at 11:15 AM and tee time is 1:oo PM.

The first Scramble Against Cancer was hosted at Onion Creek Golf Course on September 26, 2016. It was a golf tournament fundraiser created by his fellow firefighters at Station 8 for their brother, Austin Firefighter Ryan Endicott, who was diagnosed with cancer. Ryan is a Marine Corp veteran and Austin Firefighter assigned to Ladder 8 C-shift; a loving father, boyfriend and friend.  His crew set in motion a golf tournament that would help Ryan and his family as he battled this awful disease.

Ryan beat his cancer, however our fire family knew there were more Austin Firefighters who needed our help.  As you all know the huge impact cancer has on our fire family based on a study by the IAFF from 2002 to 2019, cancer accounts for 66% of firefighters line of duty deaths.  We have held a Scramble Against Cancer Benefiting Austin Firefighters every year in the fall at Onion Creek Golf Course except for Fall 2020. We are going to play our 6th Annual Scramble Against Cancer 18 hole golf tourney on October 10, 2022 at Onion Creek Golf Club. Our firefighters and our community will extinguish cancer together, one golf ball at a time.
